New arrival at home!

I was thinking last night it is high time I write a blog again so what better then to introduction to our latest arrival, Buttons my new guinea pig.
Buttons is a very long haired 1-2 year old male guinea pig who we picked up from Hula Animal Rescue a few week ago. (http://www.hularescue.org)

After seeing him on Hula's website and then meeting him, how could I not ask to take Buttons home to be loved and possibly some what spoilt. So the an application was filled in and home visit later sorted and now Buttons has a home again.

There is some thing so very cute about walking into the front room and being greeting by the squeaks of 2 happy little guinea pigs catting to each other that makes me smile.

I would just like to say Thank you Very much to all the great people at the Hula rescue centre for looking after Buttons and doing such a great job. Buttons doing great and loving his new mansion, hidey holes and running around the front room all evening.

Our (tiny) Balcony Garden:

Its the weekend yay!

Well hello and welcome to this wonderful weekend.

It’s sunny and warm here and I have the flat to myself so it’s time to relax and potter.

First check on the treasury list I put together yesterday: Born in the UK . . . Get the look.

And then I popped onto Craft Britannia BNR fingers crossed its guna be a good day for them with lots on sales:

So that the business done now it’s time working on my very full balcony garden and there is so much to do. I hope you can see just some of the flowers and veg we have out there; it’s so packed at the minute you have to step over plants to water others but hay my neighbors may think I’m mad but my balcony was short listed for best council house garden. So it’s all just proof that if you don’t try you wont every know what’s possible.

Re-potting, weeding, deadheading and most important sorting out 'pea corner' so hopefully I can have some more fresh peas soon.
So best go get on with it and keep all looking nice.

If you fancy taking a look.

Here we go!

HI, Hello & Welcome to all.
This is my first ever blog so I'm hoping I'm doing things right.
Ok let’s get started:

Who am I? (Oh good question)
My name is Ann; I'm 24 and a mum to one very cheeky son....

(Next vital question)

What am I doing here blogging?
Well I'm a textile artist so I want a place to share my work and explain my inspiration and talking to your self is apparently madness. I also want a place to put pictures and hopefully find other people who have balcony gardens as I can’t be the only one who likes to garden without a garden.

Anything else to blog?
ummm... oh yes and the reason I first looked into blogging. My "Born in the UK . . ." treasury lists on Etsy. Here have a look:

and this one:

Oh and here is the first one I put together:

(Hope the links work)

You see the idea is to promote more UK based shops on Etsy because there are so many great shops on there that some days I really do think that us shops in the UK just get lost in with them all. So the plan is to showcase them on a treasury list every few days and get people looking and talking about all the great etsy shops that the UK has to offer.

Well that’s the plan... so make up the treasury add it to my blog and facebook then I hope (and ask nicely) that if you like it you pass the link on to your friends, followers, whoever you like. It’s all about getting people thinking UK when they shop.

I think that is plenty for now I need a cupa and to find more treasures for the next "Born in the UK . . ." so bye for now and don’t forget to hit the follow this blog link. Please, please, please....
